Who can set up the Data box?
For some entities, the data box is set up automatically. If the Data box was not set up automatically, it can be set up for an individual person, business person and legal entity in case they are not registered in Commercial Register or set up by law.
How to set up the Data box?
If the Data box was not set up automatically, you can set up your Data box according to a request. There are three possibilities how to do it:
– Personally (Post / Czech point)
To set up a data box, you need to present your proof of identity, such as: ID card, passport, residence permit, visa sticker or residence sticker. Most requests are processed immediately and you receive a confirmation of the establishment of a data box and you can log in to your newly established data box.
– Writing application
It is necessary to fill in the application for the establishment of a data box using the appropriate form, which can be found here. The completed application must be printed out and the signature must be officially verified. Then everything should be sent to the Ministry of the Interior – address here. If the application is completed correctly and completely, the data box will probably be set up within three days.
– Online via eidentita.cz
First of all, it is necessary to log in to the eidentita.cz portal, where after entering the online application, the data box will be set up and made available to you immediately. The applicant has already secured access to the data box via the eidentita.cz portal, the access data Name / Password are issued only at his explicit request and then they are displayed immediately, directly on the screen.
Can you get represented in submission of an application for the establishment of a data box?
Yes you can get represented based on Power of Attorney, where your signature must be officially verified.
How much does it cost to set up a data box and then it’s operation?
The data box is set up free of charge. Sending data messages to Czech authorities or all communication with the Czech authorities is for free. If you want to send data messages to other entities, it is currently (with regard to the current corona situation) also free of charge, otherwise for a small fee. If you want to have all communication stored in the data box, you can set up a data safe for a small fee.
